Dear gominokouhai,

Hello, I am an admin on Wikipedia, and I would like to upload this image to Wikimedia Commons:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/gominokouhai/4625540160/

Would it be possible for you to change the license tag on the image to simply "CC-BY-SA" or "CC-BY" ?

Thank you for your time.

Yours, etc.

Funny how, after all that time I spend photographizing things, it's the ten-minute sketch I dashed off the other night while extremely drunk that earns me eternal wealth and fame.

There's a story attached to this, but it's not a very good one. I don't draw, for reasons that should be apparent. Nonetheless I was pretty pleased with how Mohammad came out: it sort of looks like it's supposed to, if you squint (and ignore that he's got no ears). Then, not having a scanner, I had to photograph it in order to get it into Internet. I had to explain to onlookers that this might take some time.

It didn't. Set it to f/2.8 1/125 by eye, readjusted the desk lamp, and bang! first time lucky. I am still a better photographer than I am an artist.

Smug now.

OAAT: note, once again, how Creative Commons brings the awesome. For the ironically-challenged among you, I'm aware that this is an incredibly miniscule achievement, but the fact that I got any recognition at all is quite nice.

See? Nagging (and limits) produces your best work. :)

Enjoy the awesome.

It's funny how that happens. I was surprised last year when my quick snap of an A380 in Sydney was used in an online travel guide while I had far better photos of my trip that people didn't seem interested in!

Heh. I know one of my photos of the Dean Village area got used in an online travel guide, thanks to a situation just like this. The problem is, it wasn't even a good photo. Which is weird.
