Disappointed. Doctor Who finally gets to tackle decent SFnal concepts and it fucks them right up. Lacklustre direction, choppy editing and at least one example of poor acting. Seriously, could they not find a comely Northern lass who knows how to emote? I trained with at least six. (Wonder what Lucy Beaumont's doing these days?)

The plot contained some excellent elements. They were all jumbled up into a big old mess. The cliffhanger was telegraphed a mile off and, more damningly, forces one particular resolution.

I hate to say this, I really do, but what this episode really needed was Rusty. He would talk absolute bollocks but some of the time he knew how to spin a yarn.

As for the rest... we'll see.
