In case you hadn't noticed: this seems to be a recurring right-wing argument. The solution to an incredibly stupid idea, one that is clearly not working and is causing serious harm, is to do MORE of the same until it magically reverses itself. c.f. Afghanistan, Iraq, austerity, Monetarism.

Date: Sat, Dec. 22nd, 2012 17:33 (UTC)It's almost as bad as all the people in the US who carry guns and knifes because they feel unsafe. There's so much fear in the country. I even read a UK book last week which recommended against carrying a knife - but only because people unfamiliar with them (i.e. those who haven't had military training) might end up killing someone.
